School or Youth Club
To receive educational resources and information on ways we could support your school.
If you want to go into a school or youth club up to 3 times per year as part of a national campaign (e.g. Bees), to talk about your local campaigning or to support a Friends of the Earth educator, you can become a ‘School Visitor’.
This will involve telling us some basic details about yourself and completing 10 minutes of online child protection training. You will need to answer a few questions about the training to register.
If you want to go into schools or youth clubs more often than 3 times per year, you can become an Educator. If you would like us to, we will send you details of schools in your area who would like a speaker when we get requests. You can also arrange your own school visits.
This will involve telling us some basic details about yourself and completing 10 minutes of online child protection training. You will need to answer a few questions about the training and provide us with the names of 2 referees.
You will need to attend a training session within 2 years of joining, which will cover teaching and learning, session planning, presentations, resources and child protection. This will help to prepare you to work with children and young people on behalf of Friends of the Earth. If you have already worked professionally with young people (for example as a teacher), you can attend a networking day instead where we will share experience and resources and plan sessions in your area.
Note: We are no longer legally entitled to request CRB checks for our educators unless they go into the same school more frequently than once a week or 4 times within a month. If we have done a CRB check for you in the past, you will now need to register as an educator or school visitor.
